As Citizens of Malaysia, We Do Not Even Have the Right to Sleep 8 Hours a Day

Just wakened up by Yarl Restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise. I think I am going to die from lack of sleep one of these days. Last night when Yarl Restaurant turned off its kitchen hood at 11.30 p.m., I was wondering when it would turn on the kitchen hood again. Well, at 6.14 a.m. this morning, its loud and deafening kitchen hood was turned on once again to break the pindrop silence in the neighbourhood. (The  entire neighbourhood is so quiet at such an hour in the morning that even the sound of a pin dropping can be heard loudly). This means that we are only allowed to sleep for 6 hours 45 minutes. 8 hours sleep a day is only an illusion for all the victims of yarl restaurant. What does this show? As Malaysian citizens, we do not even have the right to sleep 8 hours a day.

Last night I wanted to sleep at 10.30 p.m. but I couldn't sleep because Yarl restaurant's kitchen hood was making a lot of noise. Yarl restaurant only turned off its kitchen hood at 11.30 p.m last night and I could only sleep then. Then at 6.14 a.m. this morning, I was suddenly wakened up by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise again after sleeping for 6 hours and 45 minutes. This is affecting me terribly. I couldn't concentrate at work (I work in shifts) because I am feeling sleepy all the time. I can't think properly and tend to be forgetful due to insufficient sleep. I also lose my temper easily. The kitchen hood noise is also affecting my health - causing me mental distress.

What did I do to sleep again each time after being wakened up by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise? I turned on some nature sounds to make myself sleep again after being wakened but once wakened up, it is difficult for me to sleep again. Why am I writing about yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise again? Because yarl restaurant's noise pollution program is killing me. Despite all the complaints, nothing is done by the Malaysian government to solve yarl restaurant's air and noise pollution problem.

Because of yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise, I have to spend extra money to pay for my electricity bills. This is because I have to turn on some kind of sound to cover up yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise whenever I stay in my room. And this kitchen hood noise can continue up to more than 17 hours a day. The question is: Should I ask for yarl restaurant's boss to pay for my electricity bills?

It seems that India is a more civilized country than Malaysia when it comes to human rights as the article below clearly indicates!

Indian hotel managers face jail time for Katy Perry noise pollution

Indian officials are investigating complaints of noise pollution from the Aman-i-Khas hotel where Russel Brand and Katie Perry recently tied the knot. During their wedding reception, party noise exceeded the 45 decibel limit, and that means someone is in trouble.

An official for the Sawaimadhopur district already said that the newly weds will not be charged, but that hotel management is not going to get off that easy.

To clarify, Wikipedia lists 45 decibels around the noise level of a conversation when two people are about 1 meter apart. The punishment for "talking softly" could mean several days in jail for the hotel managers who were on duty.

After the Indian wedding and reception, the couple flew to the Maldives - I just hope they have someone to help translate whatever the locals tell them.

Just how much sleep do we need each day? While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need between seven and a half to nine hours of sleep per night to function at their best. I need 8 hours of sleep every day but it has been impossible for me to do since yarl restaurant started its business in January this year.

In actual fact there isn't much difference between the yarl restaurant victims and the Bukit Merah or Lynas victims. Needless to say, radiation has killed many of the Bukit Merah victims and is also killing the Lynas victims. Similarly, Yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is causing our heath to deteriorate and killing us slowly. Can noise kill? Why not? Read the article below and find out.

Coping With Excessive Sleepiness

10 Things to Hate About Sleep Loss

By Camille Peri
WebMD Feature

You know lack of sleep can make you grumpy and foggy. You may not know what it can do to your sex life, memory, health, looks, and even ability to lose weight. Here are 10 surprising -- and serious -- effects of sleep loss.

1. Sleepiness Causes Accidents

Sleep deprivation was a factor in some of the biggest disasters in recent history: the 1979 nuclear accident at Three Mile Island, the massive Exxon Valdez oil spill, the 1986 nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl, and others.
But sleep loss is also a big public safety hazard every day on the road. Drowsiness can slow reaction time as much as driving drunk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that fatigue is a cause in 100,000 auto crashes and 1,550 crash-related deaths a year in the U.S. The problem is greatest among people under 25 years old.
Studies show that sleep loss and poor-quality sleep also lead to accidents and injuries on the job. In one study, workers who complained about excessive daytime sleepiness had significantly more work accidents, particularly repeated work accidents. They also had more sick days per accident.

2. Sleep Loss Dumbs You Down

Sleep plays a critical role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep hurts these cognitive processes in many ways. First, it impairs attention, alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. This makes it more difficult to learn efficiently.
Second, during the night, various sleep cycles play a role in “consolidating” memories in the mind. If you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t be able to remember what you learned and experienced during the day.

3. Sleep Deprivation Can Lead to Serious Health Problems

Sleep disorders and chronic sleep loss can put you at risk for:
  • Heart disease
  • Heart attack
  • Heart failure
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • High blood pressure
  • Stroke
  • Diabetes
According to some estimates, 90% of people with insomnia -- a sleep disorder characterized by trouble falling and staying asleep -- also have another health condition.

4. Lack of Sleep Kills Sex Drive

Sleep specialists say that sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex. Depleted energy, sleepiness, and increased tension may be largely to blame.
For men with sleep apnea, a respiratory problem that interrupts sleep, there may be another factor in the sexual slump. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism in 2002 suggests that many men with sleep apnea also have low testosterone levels. In the study, nearly half of the men who suffered from severe sleep apnea also secreted abnormally low levels of testosterone during the night.

5. Sleepiness Is Depressing

Over time, lack of sleep and sleep disorders can contribute to the symptoms of depression. In a 2005 Sleep in America poll, people who were diagnosed with depression or anxiety were more likely to sleep less than six hours at night.
The most common sleep disorder, insomnia, has the strongest link to depression. In a 2007 study of 10,000 people, those with insomnia were five times as likely to develop depression as those without. In fact, insomnia is often one of the first symptoms of depression.
Insomnia and depression feed on each other. Sleep loss often aggravates the symptoms of depression, and depression can make it more difficult to fall asleep. On the positive side, treating sleep problems can help depression and its symptoms, and vice versa.

6. Lack of Sleep Ages Your Skin

Most people have experienced sallow skin and puffy eyes after a few nights of missed sleep. But it turns out that chronic sleep loss can lead to lackluster skin, fine lines, and dark circles under the eyes.
When you don’t get enough sleep, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol. In excess amounts, cortisol can break down skin collagen, the protein that keeps skin smooth and elastic.
Sleep loss also causes the body to release too little human growth hormone. When we’re young, human growth hormone promotes growth. As we age, it helps increase muscle mass, thicken skin, and strengthen bones.
“It’s during deep sleep -- what we call slow-wave sleep -- that growth hormone is released,” says sleep expert Phil Gehrman, PhD. “It seems to be part of normal tissue repair -- patching the wear and tear of the day.”

7. Sleepiness Makes You Forgetful

Trying to keep your memory sharp? Try getting plenty of sleep.
In 2009, American and French researchers determined that brain events called “sharp wave ripples” are responsible for consolidating memory. The ripples also transfer learned information from the hippocampus to the neocortex of the brain, where long-term memories are stored. Sharp wave ripples occur mostly during the deepest levels of sleep.

8. Losing Sleep Can Make You Gain Weight

When it comes to body weight, it may be that if you snooze, you lose. Lack of sleep seems to be related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity. According to a 2004 study, people who sleep less than six hours a day were almost 30 percent more likely to become obese than those who slept seven to nine hours.
Recent research has focused on the link between sleep and the peptides that regulate appetite. “Ghrelin stimulates hunger and leptin signals satiety to the brain and suppresses appetite,” says Siebern. “Shortened sleep time is associated with decreases in leptin and elevations in ghrelin.”
Not only does sleep loss appear to stimulate appetite. It also stimulates cravings for high-fat, high-carbohydrate foods. Ongoing studies are considering whether adequate sleep should be a standard part of weight loss programs.

9. Lack of Sleep May Increase Risk of Death

In the “Whitehall II Study,” British researchers looked at how sleep patterns affected the mortality of more than 10,000 British civil servants over two decades. The results, published in 2007, showed that those who had cut their sleep from seven to five hours or fewer a night nearly doubled their risk of death from all causes. In particular, lack of sleep doubled the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.

10. Sleep Loss Impairs Judgment, Especially About Sleep

Lack of sleep can affect our interpretation of events. This hurts our ability to make sound judgments because we may not assess situations accurately and act on them wisely.
Sleep-deprived people seem to be especially prone to poor judgment when it comes to assessing what lack of sleep is doing to them. In our increasingly fast-paced world, functioning on less sleep has become a kind of badge of honor. But sleep specialists say if you think you’re doing fine on less sleep, you’re probably wrong. And if you work in a profession where it’s important to be able to judge your level of functioning, this can be a big problem.
“Studies show that over time, people who are getting six hours of sleep, instead of seven or eight, begin to feel that they’ve adapted to that sleep deprivation -- they’ve gotten used to it,” Gehrman says. “But if you look at how they actually do on tests of mental alertness and performance, they continue to go downhill. So there’s a point in sleep deprivation when we lose touch with how impaired we are.”

Yarl restaurant's Loud and Deafening Kitchen Hood Noise Inhibits Sleep

When I started typing this article, the time was already10.50 p.m. but yarl restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise can still be heard loud and clear in the neighbourhood. At this hour of the day, when there is pindrop silence everywhere in the neighbourhood, the kitchen hood noise has dominated the entire neighbourhood. (By pindrop silence, I mean that the entire neighbourhood is so quiet that you can even hear a pin drop). The vibrations of the kitchen hood can be felt in the whole building as well as in our brains thus making it impossible for those who need to get up early the next morning to sleep. This morning, Yarl restaurant turned on its kitchen hood at 6.43 a.m. Wonder when it will turn off its kitchen hood today. I will provide an update when yarl restaurant turns off the kitchen hood today. This is what we have to endure for the sake of yarl restaurant's business. Whilst Yarl restaurant's boss is making a great profit, we, the flat dwellers, have to suffer for his business! We are being denied the most basic of all human rights - the right to sleep for eight hours a day. It's a shame that this is happening in a civilized country like Malaysia. Even the natives in Papua New Guinea can sleep for 8 hours each day. It is already 11.05 p.m. now - yarl restaurant's kitchen hood is still making a lot of noise.

Yarl restaurant turned off its noisy kitchen hood at 11.30 p.m. today. I will go to sleep now at 11.32 p.m. Wonder how early yarl restaurant will turn on its kitchen hood next morning?

WHY TAX US MORE FOR YARL RESTAURANT'S KITCHEN HOOD NOISE?

Last Tuesday, 19 November 2013, (sometime in the afternoon) yarl restaurant suddenly turned off it's kitchen hood. This was followed by some conversations in the Malay language (I surmise someone must have complaint again about the noise) and the restaurant closed early that day. During the past week, I realized something- Yarl restaurant could actually turn the volume of the kitchen hood much lower to a much more comfortable level which only happened for a little while (probably when someone came to check on the restaurant). For the first few days after that, yarl restaurant opened at around 7.00 a.m. and closed at about 10.10 p.m. But that was only for a few days. On Sunday, 24 November 2013, the restaurant once again showed signs of reverting back to its normal behavior by closing at 11.25 p.m. On Monday, the restaurant was closed for one day. However, at 6.35 a.m. this morning (Tuesday), Yarl restaurant once again turned on its loud and deafening kitchen hood early in the morning breaking the pindrop silence in the neighbourhood. The fact that the kitchen hood noise can be reduced but yarl restaurant's boss purposely turns on the kitchen hood to its maximum capacity is a clear indication that he is a selfish and irresponsible person who only thinks of himself. And here I am writing another article about yarl restaurant's air and noise pollution program (although I am still sleepy and tired) after being wakened up by the kitchen hood noise. Why am I writing again? Because I have to face another stressful day at work with insufficient sleep and this seriously affects my concentration and efficiency at work.

Based on all the articles that I have written about yarl restaurant's air and noise pollution program, one can see that Yarl restaurant is indeed a die hard case. Once the complaints stop for a few days, it will open earlier and earlier in the morning and close later and later at night. And we keep quiet again for a few days, I am convinced that the restaurant would open once again at 5.20 a.m. (or maybe earlier than that) and close at 12.00 midnight (or maybe later than that). Looks like yarl restaurant's boss has the intention to do business round the clock! I wonder how many millions of income tax he is paying every year. There is always so much to cook and it seems that 17 hours a day are not enough for him to do the cooking. When I first reported yarl restaurant's noise pollution case to the police, yarl restaurant's boss told the police that he would turn off the kitchen hood whenever there is no business. But the kitchen hood is turned on all the time which means that there is business all the time.

In Brickfields, the brothel keepers are doing good business even though prostitution is illegal in Malaysia. Don't tell me that the Datuk Bandar is blind and deaf. Even a cat can smell a rat here. But who cares? Anyway, I honestly feel that these brothel keepers are much more honorable than yarl restaurant's boss because they do not disturb our lives with incessant noise. I respect them because they do their business quietly without polluting the environment with curry and noise. The DBKL may be very inefficient when it comes to doing real work but when it comes to squeezing money from us, it is number 1.

In the letter dated 18th. November 2013 which we received from the Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur, we were notified that the "cadangan nilai tahunan" of our flat has increased from 4,800.00 to 9,000.00 which means that we would have to pay a 100% increase in taxes for our flat. Sounds ironic, doesn't it? With yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise disturbing the entire neighbourhood throughout all our waking hours and intruding into our sleep, can the value of the property increase by 100%? Can our flats become more valuable when our bedrooms are polluted with curry particles from yarl restaurant and our clothes soak in curry each time we put them out to dry in the balcony? When I stay in my bedroom, turning on the music is not enough to cover yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. I have to put on a headphone as well and this really restricts my movements. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? This is indeed the greatest joke of the century! When it comes to squeezing money from us, the Datuk Bandar is really efficient but when it comes to solving Yarl restaurant's air and noise pollution problem, there is nothing he could do about it.

The question is - What brings up the value of our flats? We just cannot see any improvements in the neighbourhood. Of course, there is something extra here - something that we do not want and that is yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. Is the Datuk Bandar trying to say that we have to pay for yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise and curry particles that are polluting our bedrooms? Is the Datuk Bandar trying to imply that we have to pay for our deteriorating living conditions due to the kitchen hood noise? Yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is causing us a lot of stress and seriously affecting our health. Do we have to pay for our deteriorating health due to yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise? All I can say here is - Malaysia boleh! (I don't normally argue about how much I have to pay for the cukai taksiran. When it was increased exorbitantly some years back, I didn't say anything about it because there wasn't any place for me to write about all these things. But now, since I have started a blog for yarl restaurant's kitchenhood noise, I might as well write something about this here - who wants to pay extra money for the kitchen hood noise?

Do you know that in Australia if you make too much noise in bed with your partner, you will be sentenced to a fine? This is because sexual activities can also cause vibrations. But the truth is yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is definitely causing much more vibrations than sexual activities. How come nothing is done by the Malaysian Government to put an end to the sufferings of the yarl victims? This clearly shows how ineffective our Malaysian Government is in dealing with human rights! If the DBKL and DOE can't do anything to improve the environment, there is at least one thing that they can do i.e. don't squeeze money from the poor flat dwellers who have to endure deteriorating living conditions. If the environment is quiet and peaceful and more parks are built in the area, then maybe this is worth paying for. But to pay RM504 extra cukai taksiran for yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is totally unthinkable!

NOISE POLLUTION: Couple arrested for being
too loud in bed

It is illegal to be too loud in bed in Australia.

An Australian couple was sentenced to a
fine after their wild lovemaking has been
seen as disturbing their neighbors.
Jessica Angel and Colin Mackenzie are being
fined $4,000 for breaking the 1993Law of
Environmental Protection, according to local
newspaper reports.
Under the law in South Australia, the noise is
classified as a form of pollution and that
includes vibration.
Police have visited the apartment of the
couple twenty times in the past. MacKenzie,
45, accused his girlfriend for making the
noise.
"Our average sex goes anywhere from
four, six, seven hours, basically five nights a
week," he said.
"That's more or less why I'm asleep at six
o'clock. I'm probably going to die of a heart
attack. It almost killed me as it is."
An emergency environment protection
order was served on the pair, ordering
them to cease all noise in 72 hours.
But the couple was reported to have
ignored that order and the police were
called again on Tuesday morning when
they were arrested and charged.
The couple is reportedly the first in South
Australia to be accused of violating
environmental laws.

In actual fact, many Malaysians are suffering from stress and it seems that our Malaysian government is indirectly inducing stress by encouraging yarl restaurant's air and noise pollution program through inaction! (I edited this article again at 11.05 p.m. today - the time when yarl restaurant turns off its kitchen hood). Thus we can see here that Malaysian citizens do not even have their most basic right to sleep for 8 hours a day!

Stress and Noise Pollution: How You May Be At Risk

Environmental Noise May Be More Stressful Than You Realize

Updated June 30, 2012
What Is Noise Pollution?
Noise pollution can be defined as intrusive noise that disrupts, distracts, or detracts from regular functioning. And while people mainly think of noise pollution as a problem of the big cities, with the competing sounds of more people in a smaller space, noise pollution can also be found in suburban neighborhoods (in the form of leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and home construction) and even individual homes and offices at levels that can have a negative impact on your health and productivity.
Causes of Noise Pollution
While there are many different sources of noise pollution, there are some main culprits that have been researched and found to have a negative impact on health. They include the following:
  • Airplanes—It’s been well-documented that noise pollution from airplanes has a significant negative impact on the health and wellbeing of those who live close to airports. This can include heart disease, high blood pressure and chronic stress. (Airplanes do not make noise continuously but yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is continuously emitting noise and curry particles to pollute our bedrooms. The situation in my bedroom is worse than the airport - it never cross my mind that airplanes can cause noise pollution although I have been to the airport many times. I only discover what noise pollution means from yarl restaurant's kitchen hood).
  • Cars--One of the complaints of those who live in big cities or on busy streets is the disruption from the sounds of traffic. Interestingly, though, even low levels of traffic noise can be damaging to people, and traffic noise is one of the most commonly experienced contributors to noise pollution (Traffic noise is not as damaging as yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise - My office is situated along a busy road but I do not find the sounds of traffic disturbing probably because no matter how busy the road is, the traffic sounds are not as continuous as yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. The sounds of traffic do not cause vibrations and tremors in our brain but yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise can easily make our brains to vibrate thus causing tremors in our brain).
  • Workplace Noise—Most of us may think of loud assembly lines or construction sites when we think of noise pollution in the workplace, and while these examples definitely apply, regular offices are not immune. With more people packed into busy office spaces, office noise is a common complaint. Co-workers who talk, drum their fingers on the desk, or offer other distracting noises can decrease the productivity of those around them without realizing it.(If talking and drumming the fingers on the desk can affect concentration, then yarl restaurant's loud, deafening and continuous kitchen hood noise is certainly much more devastating than that!)
  • Home Sound--Many people don’t think of their homes as ‘noisy’, but if there’s a lot of activity in the home, including a constantly running t.v., this overall noise level can actually be a threat to concentration and a cause of stress. In fact, children from more noisy homes do suffer ill effects from this type of sound pollution that include less cognitive growth, delayed language skills, increased anxiety, and impaired resilience, according to a Purdue University professor in a related press release. (I do not consider a running TV to be a threat to health but if it can be a threat to concentration and a cause of stress, then yarl restaurant's loud, deafening and continuous kitchen hood noise is a much more serious threat than that)
Negative Effects of Noise Pollution
Many studies have been conducted to study the effects of noise pollution on health and wellness, and the results have shown that noise pollution can negatively impact you in the following ways:
  • Productivity: We all know that noise can be distracting, and research proves this. One study examined children exposed to airport noise and found that their reading ability and long-term memory was impaired. Those working in noisy office environments have also been found to be less cognitively motivated, and to have higher stress levels, according to a Cornell University study.
  • Health: Perhaps the most serious problem created by sound pollution is the impact it has on our health. Because sound pollution can trigger the body’s stress response, one of its major health effects is chronic stress and the high levels of stress hormones that go with it. As a result, noise pollution has also been linked with health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke. It’s also been linked with musculoskeletal problems, as a Cornell University study on office noise found that those working in noisy office environments can also be less likely to ergonomically adjust their workstations for comfort, which can contribute to physical problems. Noise pollution can also impact sleep quality by preventing sleep and disrupting sleep cycles. And, perhaps most significantly, because chronic stress can lower your immunity to all disease, noise pollution is a general threat to health and wellness. (My sleep quality is deteriorating seriously and I have to endure another tired and sleepy day after being wakened up by yarl restaurant's noisy kitchen hood early this morning).

Is the Human Rights Situation in Malaysia Deteriorating?

Today is Sunday and with the cold weather after the rain I suppose everyone would love to sleep until 8a.m. or even 9 a.m. That was what I used to do. But at 6.38 a.m., when there was pindrop silence everywhere in the neighbourhood, I was already waken up by Yarl Restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise. What I mean by 'pindrop' silence is that the entire neighbourhood was so quiet that you could even hear a pin drop but this quietness was destroyed suddenly by yarl restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise. The loud and deafening kitchen hood noise that you hear so suddenly at the moment the kitchen hood is turned on can really make anyone jump and if I were suffering from a heart attack, I could have died. I find it totally useless to cover my ears with two big pillows because the kitchen hood noise can still be heard extremely loudly even with two big pillows on my ear. Maybe it's because noise can travel easily through solid materials. Since yesterday was Saturday, I took my kids out to have some fun and returned home at 10.30 p.m. I suppose there is nothing wrong returning home at 10.30 p.m. on a Saturday night. But with yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise waking everyone up early in the morning, there is something terrible wrong. The first thing we did was to quickly get ready for bed knowing that we will not get enough sleep if we sleep late because yarl restaurant will wake everyone up early every morning with its loud and deafening kitchen hood to celebrate the beginning of each new day! And just because we returned home at 10.30 p.m. last night and only managed to go to bed at 11.30 p.m., we have to endure sleepiness and tiredness for the whole day today because yarl restaurant started operation at 6.38 a.m today. And here I am writing another article about my rights as an ordinary citizen in Malaysia.

Why am I writing this article? I am grieving because I am feeling sleepy and can't sleep and the luxury of sleeping until 8 a.m. on Sundays (something I used to look forward to last time) is no more. For yarl restaurant's victims, to wake up at 8.00 a.m. is indeed a great luxury - something which we can never have and something which all the treasure on earth cannot buy. Is the human rights situation in Malaysia deteriorating? How should I answer this question? Well, all I can say here is I don't have the right to sleep 8 hours a day and can't even decide when to sleep and when to wake up. I can't even enter my own bedroom during my waking hours and if I were adamant to stay in the room, I will end up with brain tremors.  Yarl restaurant's noisy and deafening kitchen hood is also interfering with my prayers. If you were given 7 hours (or less) to sleep, who will think of spending some of this precious time to pray? And of course, taking an afternoon nap is no longer possible now. For those of you who enjoy watching football till the wee hours of the morning, you'll know how painful it is to be prevented from doing so because you must wake up early and must sleep as soon as yarl restaurant turns of its kitchen hood. All these restrictions imposed on me by yarl restaurant is a gross violation of human rights!

Here I would like to share an article about a professional pianist facing seven years in jail after noise complaint from former neighbor. This pianist only played the piano 8 hours a day and music from the piano is not disturbing but she is facing seven years in jail. If what I hear is just piano music that goes on for 8 hours a day I wouldn't mind because music sounds good and it doesn't cause brain tremors. 8 hours of piano music a day is nothing compared to yarl restaurant's loud and deafening motor noise from the kitchen hood that goes on for about 17 hours a day. The kitchen hood noise is definitely more disturbing and much. much louder than the piano. If  the pianist can be jailed for 7 years, then yarl restaurant's boss should be jailed twice that number of years because his noise pollution activities are much more serious than the pianist's. Apart from polluting the entire neighbourhood with deafening noise, he also pollutes the air with curry particles. My bedroom is filled with curry smell from yarl restaurant's kitchen and so is my living room. How come yarl restaurant can operate 17 hours a day with its noisy and deafening kitchen hood intruding into everyone's sleep and its curry particles going into people's bedrooms and living rooms but no action is taken by the Malaysian government to stop this nuisance? Does it mean that it is alright for the Malaysian citizens to suffer the consequences of noise pollution such as lack of sleep, health deterioration and even death?

Many complaints have been made to the City Council (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, DBKL) and the Department of Environment (DOE). But what action has been taken by them so far? Nothing. It seems that the DBKL and the DOE are playing a football game. DBKL kicked the case to DOE and DOE kicked it back to them and until today nothing is done. So it seems that Yarl restaurant's boss has become the king of this area and is doing whatever he wants without constraints. It's indeed a shame to have a big bully here and no one can do anything to him. This is obviously a clear indication of the failure of the Malaysian Legal System. Is this what we call Malaysian integrity?

Professional pianist faces seven years in jail after noise complaint from former neighbour

Laia Martin could be locked up and banned from playing piano if found guilty of noise pollution and causing "psychiatric injury"

Jail threat: Pianist Laia Martin
Jail threat: Pianist Laia Martin

EL Pais TV

A professional pianist is facing the threat of JAIL following a noise complaint by a former neighbour.
Laia Martin, 28, is standing trial charged with noise pollution and causing "psychiatric injury" by practicing for up to eight hours a day for four years.
If found guilty, the Spaniard could be jailed for up to seven-and-a-half years as well as being banned from playing her favourite instrument for four years.
Miss Martin, currently studying a masters degree in Italy, went on trial  yesterday at a court in Girona, north east Spain, along with her plumber dad Luis and mum Isabel.
The unnamed neighbour claims she had to take time off work because of the noise and ended up moving.
State prosecutors say a ban on Miss Martin playing piano would be fair because in her case it can be considered "an instrument of crime."

IS IT ALRIGHT FOR MALAYSIANS TO DIE FROM LACK OF SLEEP AS LONG AS THEY DON'T SMOKE?

Last night when yarl restaurant turned off its kitchen hood at 11.17 p.m., I was wondering when it would turn it on again the next morning. True enough, at 6.35 a.m. today, yarl restaurant turned on its noisy and deafening kitchen hood when there is pindrop silence everywhere in the neighbourhoood. Again, I failed to get my 8 hours sleep. I managed to sleep for about 7 hours only and my health is deteriorating because of yarl restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise that not only interferes with all my waking hours but intrudes into my sleep as well. My head is swinging now and I really feel dizzy. Another day of sleepiness and tiredness at work! This is my right as a Malaysian citizen.

Why am I writing so many articles about yarl restaurant's deafening and loud kitchen hood noise? Do you think I like to do so? If I were given a choice, I would choose to live in peace again like last time without yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. I want to sleep instead of spending my time writing about yarl restaurant but I can't. What else can you expect from someone who is sleepy and tired and couldn't sleep everyday because of the loud and deafening kitchen hood noise and nothing can be done by the Malaysian government to stop this kind of nuisance despite repeated complaints to the relevant authorities? Sometimes I do wonder what our PM means by "rakyat diutamakan" (people first). Based on my present situation now, does it mean that it is alright for Malaysians to die from lack of sleep as long as they don't smoke?

YARL RESTAURANT IS KILLING US WITH ITS KITCHEN HOOD NOISE

Last night, I hoped that I could sleep early knowing that yarl restaurant would turn on its kitchen hood very early in the morning and that I would be forced to get up early too but I just couldn't sleep early because yarl restaurant only turned of its kitchen hood at 11.07 p.m. Immediately after yarl restaurant turned off its kitchen hood at 11.07 p.m. I quickly went  to sleep. However, yarl restaurant turned on its loud and deafening kitchen hood again at 6.35 a.m. this morning waking me up before I could get 8 hours sleep. At 6.35 a.m., when there is still pindrop silence everywhere in the neighbourhood, yarl restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood is indeed a threat to the entire neighbourhood! As I am typing this article now, the time is already 10.49 p.m. but yarl restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise is still disturbing the peace of the entire neighbourhood. Without the kitchen hood noise, there would have been pindrop silence everywhere now but sad to say, at this hour of the day, the entire neighbourhood sounds more like a noisy factory than a residential area at bedtime hour. I want to sleep now. Who knows how early yarl restaurant would turn on its kitchen hood again next morning but with the kitchen hood still making so much noise now, how could I sleep? So here I am, writing this article. I will stop when yarl restaurant turn off its kitchen hood. Right now, with the kitchen noise causing tremors in my brain and vibrations in my entire body as though there is an earthquake, the only thing I can do is to write about yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. Let's see what time the kitchen hood noise would stop tonight. The answer is at 11.17 p.m. (This article is edited at 11.17 p.m. to add the time when yarl restaurant turn off the kitchen hood.)

We all know that insufficient sleep can cause death. There have been instances where people just collapse and die due to lack of sleep. The Malaysian government prohibits us to smoke because it endangers our health. But does the Malaysian government know that noise pollution can also have adverse effects on our health? Does the Malaysian government know that lack of sleep can cause death? Why encourage yarl restaurant's boss to kill us with its kitchen hood noise through the government's inaction? What does "rakyat diutamakan" mean? Does it mean that it's alright for the Malaysian citizens to die from lack of sleep as long as they don't smoke? If the Malaysian government can ban cigarettes, it can also ban yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. Why ban yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise? Below I would like to share an article about how lack of sleep could have cause Michael Jackson's death. Like Michael Jackson, I find it difficult to sleep. This is because yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is causing tremors in my brain. I don't know why my two pillows cannot dampen the kitchen noise. That's why I can't sleep at all with the kitchen hood noise.

Michael JacksonRecently Michael Jackson – the King of Pop was back in the news, after his former nurse Cherilyn Lee testified that the troubled singer was suffering from insomnia and was convinced that the propofol was the only cure for his condition. Jackson had so much trouble falling asleep that he actually wanted propofol – a powerful anaesthetic to get some shuteye!
The testimony was part of a lawsuit filed by Jackson’s mother and children about his wrongful death. Lee claims that Jackson asked her to find him an anaesthesiologist who could help him sleep with the surgical anaesthetic propofol! Incidentally, his personal physician was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter and is serving a four-year sentence in prison. While the cause of death was the drugs, the question is that was it insomnia or lack of sleep that led to Jackson’s untimely demise. What was it that prevented him from sleeping? For that you’ve to understand:
What is insomnia?
Simply put, insomnia is a condition where a person finds it difficult to fall asleep. Sleep is an important part of the human body’s system. It repairs the muscles, tissues and cells of the body, provides much-needed rest to organs and makes and releases necessary hormones and enzymes during this time. Since the sleep cycle of humans is regulated according to daylight and nightfall, it is essential that a person sleeps adequately during the night. This is why insomnia is extremely bad for health. Another reason is that since one does not sleep at night they are generally sleepy during the day – due to exhaustion and sleep deprivation – which interferes with their ability to perform everyday functions normally and efficiently. Read more about sleep disorders.
How can a person die due to insomnia?
While Michael Jackson died due to fatal cocktail of drugs, insomnia itself can take lives. In fact, you’d sooner die due to the lack of sleep than lack of food! Insomnia usually pushes a person towards depression and fatigue with makes their judgement skewered, pushing them to try desperate things to get some sleep. A more sudden and severe reaction to sleep deprivation is death due to cardiac arrest. This happens when a person becomes so weak that the heart muscles can no longer pump enough blood to the rest of the body. The organ becomes so fatigued that it stops working.
What are the symptoms of the disease?
Insomniacs show various symptoms like irritability, increased fatigue, sleepiness during the day, irritability and problems with concentration and memory. Think you are suffering from insomnia? Read about what might not be letting you sleep.
What are the types of insomnia?
There are basically two types of insomnia – primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. Primary insomnia is when the person suffers from insomnia independent of other diseases. Secondary insomnia is when the condition arises as the result of some other prevalent disease.
Risk factors that could lead to insomnia:
Conditions such as intense stress, emotional distress, depression, high blood pressure, allergies, change in the sleep timings and obesity (which leads to sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnoea) can lead to acute insomnia (one that lasts for a short period of time). Factors like extreme anxiety, clinical depression and pain can lead to chronic or long term insomnia.
How is it diagnosed?
Insomnia is usually diagnosed by a physical examination. The doctor may ask the patient or their family about their sleeping patterns for a better understanding of the severity. This usually suffices, but in some cases one may need a sleep test (where one’s sleeping patterns are monitored in a sleep clinic) for more accurate diagnosis.
What are the treatment options?
Mild or acute insomnia is usually treated with some mild sedatives and some changes in sleeping patterns. Here the doctor will tell the patient about healthy ways to help them fall asleep. Although sleeping pills are known to be addictive in nature some people may require it in small doses to overcome their reason for the acute insomnia, like trauma or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). In the case of chronic insomnia a doctor may prescribe a heavier dose of the drugs along with behavioural therapy or counselling depending on the patient’s needs. If the insomnia is due to some physiological condition like high blood pressure, pain or mental health disturbances or obstructive sleep apnoea, he/she will aim to first cure the root cause of the problem. Read about some helpful ways to fall asleep.
What are the complications of insomnia?
Not being able to sleep directly relates to not being able to rest one’s body and mind. Therefore the complications are also related. They are include extreme fatigue that could lead to sudden weight loss, irritability and lack of appetite, malfunctioning of vital organs due to long term use of drugs, inability to concentrate on work, depression and anxiety. In all cases of insomnia, it is always advisable to get a doctor’s opinion at the earliest. Never attempt to use any medication (like sleeping pills) over the counter as they can cause great damage to the body.

Kitchen Hood Noise Causing Tremors in My Brain

Last night I reluctantly visited a friend who is dying of cancer. I actually didn't want to go because, as I have said earlier, my every move is very much restricted by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. And of course after the visit, I have to pay the price for it. Today, I suffer from dizziness due to lack of sleep again. I forced myself to do some paper work in my room and ended up with brain tremors. I just can't stay in the room because of the kitchen hood noise but where am I to go? The living room is a place for family gossips and TV programmes. I feel like vomiting and fainting. My entire being is vibrating. Just can't focus on my work. The kitchen hood noise has been going on non-stop from early morning (6.50 a.m.) until now when I edited this article (7.26 p.m.). More than 12 hours already! It is a miracle I am still alive after being tortured by the kitchen hood noise for so many months. This is already a great favor from yarl restaurant. If no one complaints, it would be opened much earlier than that. Just keep quiet for a few days and see what happens! Yarl restaurant will open earlier and earlier again each day and revert back to its old habit of opening at 5.20 a.m.

Those of you who enjoy watching football until the wee hours in the morning will know how is it like to be forbidden to do so because yarl restaurant wants to do business early in the morning and you must get up once the kitchen hood is turned on!

A Very Good Example of Malaysian Integrity

Malaysian Integrity = yarl restaurant = money for me, noise for you = selfishness

Last night, after work, I quickly rushed to do my shopping grabbing whatever I could without looking at the things because I wanted to rush home to sleep knowing that I had to get up early when yarl restaurant turns on its loud and deafening kitchen hood very early in the morning. But of course, I couldn't jump onto the bed immediately after I got home. After taking a bath and settling down, it was already 12.30 a.m. But at 5.45 a.m., I was  already waken up by Yarl Restaurant's loud and deafening kitchen hood noise. Experience has taught me that it is not possible to sleep with the kitchen hood noise on. I had tried forcing myself to sleep before by pressing two pillows on one ear with the other ear pressing onto the mattress only to find myself keeping awake all the time and feeling dizzy the whole day with the kitchen hood noise ringing in my mind all the time. This Friday will be my company's annual dinner and the dinner normally ends at 11.30 p.m. I don't feel like going at all because I will be home late and will have to sleep late that day only to be waken up very early in the morning by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. This would mean that I have to endure another tired and sleepy day. Given the noise pollution situation that I am in now, even the luxurious lucky draw presents cannot tempt me to go to my company's annual dinner anymore. The dreadfulness of having to endure yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise all my waking hours and with the kitchen hood noise intruding  into my sleep makes me lost interest in the lucky draw presents that I used to look forward to each year. Why am I complaining about Yarl restaurant? This is because my every move is controlled by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise. I can't even take part in my company's annual dinner.

When I offered to take my daughter out for a treat on her birthday (on a Monday), she refused to go out because yarl restaurant was closed for one day on that day. She said that it was the only day she could study properly in her room and she did not mind giving up her birthday treat. All these years, we have never appreciated the peace of our neighbourhood until yarl restaurant started operation in January this year. Only then did we begin to miss the good old days when there was no kitchen hood noise and the neighbourhood was peaceful and quiet. It is only now that we realize how precious time is when yarl restaurant is closed even for a short while. Where are our basic rights as Malaysian citizens? Our entire life is controlled by yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise and the Malaysian government cannot do anything about this. What a hateful nuisance Yarl restaurant is! Why make others sacrifice for its business? Surely yarl restaurant's boss knows that there are many kitchen hoods that do not produce out so much noise because many restaurant owners are using this kind of kitchen hood!  Is it because this is the cheapest variety that he could find in the market? Is this what we call Malaysian Integrity?

One day before Deepavali, I referred the case to Datuk Michael Chong. I have always believed that he was the only one who could help those who are in desperate need of help. I waited for him for 3 hours and I was very happy when he finally agreed to look into the matter. When I called his office again yesterday, I was told that yarl restaurant's boss did not want to talk to him at all and ignored his calls and he couldn't do anything about it because he just couldn't get the chance to talk to the boss. I have always placed very high hopes on the MCA. I have always believed that the MCA does not deserve to be defeated so seriously in this year's general election and even thought of campaigning for the MCA in the next election. By that time, I would have completed what I am supposed to do and will have more time for that. I really hope that I could find a reason why I should campaign for the MCA! Do you know why people do not want to vote for the MCA? Let me narrate what I heard in the Metro bus (No12) I was travelling in not long after the general election. A few men were talking about MCA's defeat in the bus. I didn't know them but I just told them what was in my mind at that moment. (Each time I think of Datuk Michael Chong, there is always a smile on my face because I believe that there isn't anything that he couldn't do). So I told these men that the door of MCA is always opened and anyone who needed help could always see Datuk Michael Chong who is forever willing to help. Guess how they responded? One of them shouted at me and said, "MCA is a traitor". I refused to comment on that further because the whole gang looked furious and I only smiled without saying another word. All these while I have been wondering if I should campaign for the MCA in the next election since I write a lot and maybe my writings would help. But should I?

Is Yarl restaurant's Noise and Air Pollution Case very difficult to solve? Just ask his boss to change his loud kitchen hood to a noiseless one since so many restaurants are already using this kind of kitchen hood and the case is solved. But how come the MP of this area (Fong Kui Lun) doesn't have the authority to do so? How come Datuk Michael Chong cannot do anything about it? How come the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) can't do anything about it? How come the Department of Environment can't do anything about it? How come the Malaysian government can't do anything about it? This clearly reminds me of the uncivilized cowboy towns in the West in the distant past. You have a big bully here and he is doing whatever he wants (threatening the life and well-being of others) when he entered the neighbourhood and no one can stop him. If we were living in an uncivilized cowboy era, then maybe nothing can be done. But with all our laws and environmental guidelines for noise pollution and still nothing can be done to settle the problem is indeed a mockery to our Malaysian Legal System.

According to the pamphlet distributed by Institiut Integriti Malaysia:

Integriti melibatkan saya dan anda. Pilihan yang kita lakukan mencerminkan peribadi dan nilai diri kita. Pilihan yang kita buat akan memperkuatkan ataupun memusnahkan integriti.

Keputusan yang diambil tanpa integriti mendatangkan akibat yang buruk. Secara keseluruhannya, kita berkemungkinan akan melukai diri kita sendiri dan orang lain jika kita gagal melakukan perkara yang betul atau melakukannya dengan salah.

The above statement can be interpreted this way: Integrity involves you and me. The choice that we make clearly reflects our personality and values. The choice that we make can strengthen or destroy integrity.

The decisions made without integrity can bring disaster in our lives. We may harm others and even ourselves if we fail to do the right thing or do the wrong thing.

Just ask the civil servants what they have done with this pamphlet? You can find lots of them in the garbage bin! But why keep harping on integrity when there is none? What is so unique with Malaysia is, unlike other countries in this world, the snatch thieves and robbers here often cause serious injury or even death to their victims. Needless to say, this is a clear reflection of the personalities and values of our society. Do we call this Malaysian integrity? (In other countries, the thieves and robbers normally don't take lives) Sad to say, these cases are increasing rapidly. What is even worse is when the snatch thieves turn out to be policemen! If our policemen can turn out to be robbers, there is really something terribly wrong with the values of our society. This clearly shows that Malaysia is seriously lacking in integrity. Why is it so? Because it is difficult to instill integrity into the lives of our people. Who cares about the Institiut Integriti Malaysia? It is only intended for the showroom!

When it comes to making a living, Malaysia is the worst lot! For instance, when our snatch thieves and robbers decide to do business, they have only one thing in mind i.e. to go all the way out to make a profit regardless of the safety and well-being of others. Are they justified in doing this? Justified or not, we have to accept the fact that this is Malaysian integrity. Why am I comparing the snatch thieves / robbers with Yarl restaurant's boss? In actual fact, there is no difference between Yarl restaurant's owner and the snatch thieves / robbers because their purpose is the same i.e. to go all the way out to make a profit regardless of the harm that they may bring to others! His selfishness is clearly the best example of Malaysian integrity. Why the best example? The snatch thieves and robbers can be arrested by the police but it seems that it is legally right for yarl restaurant's boss to murder his victims. Do you know how I am feeling now? I feel sleepy and tired due to lack of sleep. I feel dizzy because the noise of the kitchen hood is causing vibrations and tremors in my brain. I cannot concentrate on my work and much of it has been seriously delayed because of the kitchen hood noise. My health is failing and I feel sickly and irritated. I cannot think clearly and often lose my temper without reasons. How much should yarl restaurant compensate me for the sufferings that I am enduring now? Am I justified to write about the truth of what is going on in my life?

Who says that noise pollution is not a serious problem? It can even cause death! That's why I said that Yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is murdering me. Noise has been found to interfere with our activities at three levels; (a) audio logical level in referring with the satisfactory performance of the hearing mechanism; (b) biological level interfering with the biological functioning of the body; and © behavioural level affecting the sociological behaviour of the subjects. Because of this the noise affects categorically, performance, physiology and psychology.

Noise pollution has been known to cause nervous disorder, headache, high blood pressure and short memory. The various of noise pollution is summarized below:

(a) Depression and fatigue, which considerably reduces the efficiency of a person.

(b) Insomnia as a result of lack of undisturbed and refreshing sleep.

© Straining of senses and annoyance as a result of slow but persistent noise from motorcycles, alarm clocks, call bells, telephone rings and deafening and endless noise from kitchen hoods, etc.

(d) It is a cause of frustration and is associated with difficulty in concentration, disturbance of rest, physical and mental fatigue. Low frequency noise of 50 to 60 dB affects the higher centre of brain and causes an alternation in the normal sleep pattern and prevents sound sleep. Yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is certainly much louder that that and it not only fills up all our waking hours but intrudes into our sleep as well. How come the Malaysian government says it doesn't matter and nothing can be done to solve yarl restaurant's Noise and Air Pollution Case?

(e) Noise, which is an annoyance also causes irritation dis-satisfaction, dis-interest and affects work "performance. Noise has been reported both to improve and to decrease work efficiency, depending on its intensity, duration and frequency distribution etc.

Various physiological as well as pathologic effects of noise pollution are as follows:

(a) Noise pollution affects human health, comfort and efficiency. It cause contraction of blood vessels, makes, the skin pale, leads to excessive secretion of adrenalin hormone into blood stream with is responsible for high blood pressure.

(b) It causes muscles to contract leading to nervous breakdown, tension and even insanity.

© Noise effects are anxiety, stress reaction and fright. These adverse reactions are coupled with a change in hormone content of blood, which in turn produces increased rate of heart beat, constriction of blood vessels, digestive sperms and dilation of pupil of eye.

(d) The most immediate and acute effect of noise is the impairment of hearing, which diminishes by the damage of some part of auditory system. When exposed to very loud and sudden noise acute damage occurs to the eardrum. Prolonged exposure to noise of certain frequency pattern will lead to chronic damage to the hair cells in the inner ear.

(e) Auditory fatigue appears in the 90 dB associated with whistling and buzzing in ears. Temporary deafness occurs at 4000-6000 Hz, and this effect is known as Temporary Threshold Shift (TTS), Permanent loss of hearing occurs at 100 dB due to continuous noise exposure. Under such conditions, the auditory threshold shift is called Permanent Threshold Shift (PTS). Besides chronic hearing loss, there may be instantaneous damage or acoustic trauma, which may be caused by very high intensity impulsive noise resulting from an explosion or sudden excessive noise of more than 150 dB.

(f) Physiological effects of noise pollution include neurosis, hypertension, increase in sweating, hepatic diseases, giddiness, peptic ulcers, undesirable change in gastro intestinal activities behavioural and emotional stress.

(g) Noise mainly interferes with man's communication. It is easily visualized that a conversation can be carried on in whisper in a still place, while one his to shout to make sense in a noisy factory.

(h) Blood gets thickened by excessive noise. Changes in breathing amplitude have also been reported due to impulsive noise.

(i) Noise causes cosinophilia, hyperglycarmia, hypokalaemia and hypoglycarmia by a change in blood and other body fluids.

(j) Noise causes chronic headache and irritability; work, which needs a high degree of skill, is considerably affected. The overall working efficiency goes down when noise level goes up.

Noise pollution interferes with the ability to comprehend normal speech and may lead to a number of personal disabilities, handicaps, and behavioral changes. These include problems with concentration, fatigue, uncertainty, lack of self confidence, irritation, misunderstandings, decreased working capacity, disturbed interpersonal relationships, and stress reactions. Some of these effects may lead to increased accidents, disruption of communication in the classroom, and impaired academic performance. Particularly vulnerable groups include children and the elderly.

Uninterrupted sleep is known to be a prerequisite for good physiologic and mental functioning in healthy individuals. Environmental noise is one of the major causes of disturbed sleep. When sleep disruption becomes chronic, the results are mood changes, decrements in performance, and other long-term effects on health and well-being. Much recent research has focused on noise from aircraft, roadways, and trains. The noise from the kitchen hoods can also be very devastating since it is continuous and deafening and may even last up to 18 hours a day. It is known, for example, that continuous noise in excess of 30 dB disturbs sleep but yarl restaurant's kitchen hood noise is certainly more than that. It sounds like a diesel truck outside my window. How much noise can a diesel truck make? According to the Table of Sound Pressure Levels, it is 90dBA. When there is insufficient sleep, the entire human body is seriously and adversely affected. WHY THEN IS THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT ENCOURAGING NOISE POLLUTION BY SUPPORTING YARL RESTAURANT'S NOISE AND AIR POLLUTION PROGRAM?

A solid night’s sleep is essential for a long and healthy life and this is a luxury that yarl restaurant's victims cannot afford to have. Since yarl restaurant started operation, we have been suffering form insufficient sleep and this is seriously affecting our health. It should be remembered that regular poor sleep puts you at risk of serious medical conditions including obesity, heart disease and diabetes – and it shortens your life expectancy. (So it seems that Yarl restaurant is murdering us with its kitchen hood noise just like the snatch thieves / robbers who killed their victims in the process of doing their business) Just how much sleep do we need? Most of us need around eight hours of good quality sleep a night to function properly – but how could we sleep 8 hours per day when Yarl restaurant is operating more than 17 hours a day? If no one complains, it may even operate round the clock. Business is extremely good and the workers are busy all the time. That's why the kitchen hood is turned on all the time. What with all those catering business, the restaurant is making a great profit at the expense of others! (Hope that yarl restaurant's boss is paying the amount of income tax that he should pay since tax evasion is also one of our Malaysian integrity!).
